With 30 years of experience as a medical doctor and a lifelong passion as an athlete, she brings both science and lived experience to her work. Now a dedicated health and wellness coach, Dr. Wilder is on a mission to help women in midlife become their best selves—vibrant, confident, and unstoppable. She lives in beautiful Ashland, Oregon.

My Story

As a lifelong athlete and sports medicine physician, I couldn’t figure out why—when I hit my late 40s—my bike rides to work felt harder. I thought I was getting fitter. I mean, I was an athlete! But instead, I was sore all the time, constantly tired, and what was with this belly fat that seemed to show up out of nowhere?

I tried the usual approach—eating less, exercising more. But nothing worked. I felt drained, defeated, and frustrated with my body.

Then, after going through a divorce, I hit a crossroads. Society often labels midlife women as “old” or “past their prime.” But I refused to accept that. I wanted this next chapter of my life to be my strongest, most confident yet.

So, I educated myself and made changes. I changed my exercise routine, my diet, cut back on alcohol, prioritized sleep, and shifted my mindset.

And within five months—everything changed. I gained muscle. I slipped back into my skinny jeans. I powered up hills on my bike with energy to spare. But the best part? I felt empowered, confident, and hopeful again.

Today, as a health and wellness coach with 30 years of medical experience, I’m on a mission to help midlife women do the same—becoming stronger, leaner, and more energized than they ever thought possible.

Before I started working with Carol, I felt frustrated with how my body looked and felt and assumed that at this age there was not much more I could do. After following Carol‘s suggestions regarding high protein intake, and different ways to work out, I feel stronger and look better. Dr. Carol taught me that I should be strengthening it, instead of babying it, and how important weight training is to heal certain problems, and for overall physical health, and how to eat for energy and strength. I was doing light weights and more cardio, and didn't realize how important it is to incorporate heavier weights into my routine.
